made up by moroccan stylists

It took three hours to do my hair. They teased it, sculpted it, curled parts of it, swept it up, and I ended up with some elaborately woven updo suitable for holding the many crowns I would wear that night. These hairdos are more appropriate for Moroccan women, who have thick, long, black hair, so it was quite a challenge for them to get my hair to look like it was supposed to. The stylists also applied makeup in Tammy Faye Bakker-esque proportions and ended by gluing little sequins to my face. As I told Mara, who said I looked like a princess, I felt more like a drag queen.
