Less than a week from the first day of summer I can see my breath outside.
Our apartment is in the grips of Seabiscuit fever. We went up to Saratoga Springs this weekend, a getaway to celebrate our 5th anniversary. Every morning at 5, trainers take the thoroughbreds out to the track to run them, and we stumbled over at 7:30 to see them go. The horses are amazing, unruly machines, unfit for anything but racing, from the looks of it: at anything less than a full gallop, they'd start pulling sideways, like dogs trying to snatch their leashes from their owners' hands.
But when they run....
